Comfortable Eco-friendly Mongolian Yurt style accommodation on the Otago Central Rail Trail, Aotearoa, New Zealand. (Website under construction - Yurt Hotel is planned to be opening October 2010 - watch this space)

The Yurt (or Ger in Mongolian) has been used for thousands of years in extreme conditions and has provided comfortable, eco-friendly, portable housing as well as being used for Hospitals, Police Stations, Schools and Tourist Camps.

They can be erected or taken down in a matter of hours and are traditionally transported easily, leaving almost no impact on the surrounding environment.

The yurts owned by Nomadic Yurts have been built to high standards by Mongolian tradespeople and look right at home within the stunning New Zealand landscape.
